Supernode Project Hits New Milestone

The second phase of the Supernode energy storage project in Australia is now live. Developer Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners also closed AUD 469 million in financing for Phase 3. With Phase 1 and 2 already delivering 520 MW and 1858 MWh combined, total capacity will pass 3 GWh once Phase 3 finishes. That makes it the largest operational battery storage system in Australia's National Electricity Market.

CATL Is the Sole Battery Supplier Across All Phases

CATL supplies the energy storage system for every phase of Supernode. The company's technical setup and long term service agreement helped de risk the asset and make the financing work.

Exclusive Supply and Future LDES Plans

Phase 3 runs exclusively on CATL's Tener energy storage system. Both sides also plan to work together on 8 hour long duration energy storage solutions going forward.

One Unified Platform Across All Phases

CATL set up a standardized technical platform on site. That removes hardware and software compatibility risks between different construction phases and keeps everything running the same way.

Full Lifecycle Service Agreement

A comprehensive Long Term Service Agreement covers condition monitoring, performance tracking, and preventive maintenance for the whole operational life of the asset.

What This Means for CATL's Global Position

With scalable manufacturing, proven product reliability, and lifecycle service contracts, CATL keeps building its track record in bankable utility scale energy storage projects around the world.
