SVOLT Rolls Out AIDC Storage Lineup Built on Lamination Tech at SMM Conference

Two Core Products for AI Data Center Power

SVOLT Energy showed its full scenario energy storage lineup for AI data centers at the 2026 SMM Solar and Storage Industry Conference in Suzhou on August 13. General Manager Gao Chunpeng gave a keynote called Lamination Opening the AI Storage Core Era and joined a roundtable on value chain changes in the solar storage industry.
SVOLT highlighted two main products for AIDC use. The first is 90Ah and 102Ah high power cells built for data center backup. The second is 5.16 and 6.29MWh short blade liquid cooled battery cabins. Together they form a complete chain from cell to system.

Why AIDC Is the Target

China's power market is opening up and renewable energy is entering market trading. The solar storage industry is moving from chasing installed capacity to creating real value. Solving grid consumption problems and delivering measurable returns now matter more than just adding megawatts.
SVOLT is aiming at AIDC because global computing expansion is pushing data center power infrastructure to upgrade. China and the US will likely account for about 70 percent of new AIDC demand worldwide. Gao outlined three shifts happening in power supply architecture. First the link is simplifying from AC UPS to 800V DC. Second storage is coupling deeper from equipment room level down to CPU level which requires fast response to computing load swings. Third the role of storage is expanding from simple backup to instant response and power smoothing.
Lithium batteries are moving from single purpose backup to full chain coverage. That includes direct green power supply on the generation side, on site storage on the distribution side, and minute level backup on the consumption side.
SVOLT is focusing on four AIDC storage scenarios: grid side storage, on site storage, minute level backup, and millisecond level response. Its product lineup covers 90Ah and 102Ah high power cells for UPS and 5.16 and 6.29MWh liquid cooled cabins for grid side and on site storage.

Cell Level Details

The 90Ah and 102Ah LFP cells deliver 10C and 6C continuous discharge with volumetric energy densities of 312Wh per liter and 287Wh per liter. Four technical breakthroughs make this possible: nano high rate lithium iron phosphate, a multi tab low impedance structure, low impedance graphite anodes, and optimized solvents with low impedance SEI films. These solve the industry problem of balancing high power output with long cycle life.

System Level Design

The 5.16 and 6.29MWh short blade liquid cooled cabins use 350Ah short blade laminated cells and dual sided liquid cooling to control heat buildup during high power operation. For safety the design separates fire and electrical zones and uses independent directional exhaust to keep hot gases away from electrical spaces. The upgraded CTR2.0 design uses a sandwich structure that improves volume utilization by 10 percent and direct material utilization by 10 percent.

Shanghai Data Center Project Passes 10000 Hours

In 2024 SVOLT built an 8.5MW 16.5MWh on site storage project at a data center in Pudong Shanghai. The system has run stably for over 10000 hours. It uses a source grid load storage integrated architecture and earns revenue through peak valley arbitrage, peak shaving, and demand response. The customer now gets 80 percent green power and lower overall energy costs. SVOLT says this model can be replicated in other data center projects.

Storage Moves from Cost Item to Revenue Asset

During the roundtable Gao said storage is shifting from a cost item to an asset that can participate in power markets and generate returns as market trading expands. SVOLT is using continuous tech iteration to maximize the full lifecycle value of its cells and meet the flexibility demands of the power system during the 15th Five Year Plan period. He stressed that core competitiveness is no longer about production capacity. It is about the ability to deliver reliable cost effective system solutions.
Going forward SVOLT says it will keep lamination technology as its foundation, pursue optimal lifecycle value in AIDC and other storage scenarios, and work with partners to move into the next phase of the solar storage industry.
